If you are ready to begin the art of cultivating an inspired lifestyle, begin a new journey, learn more about yourself
and grow deeper in your spirituality,
you are in the right place!
In
an effort to publish inspirational books and products and with the hope
of developing a place of community, I began Hope-Filled Living in 2007.
I had just left a painful experience in the pastorate of the Free
Methodist church and spent many months on sabbatical, praying for
direction. I had also been living with a chronic illness for a number of years and felt the need to reach out to others who needed to feel the same hope of which I was in need. "The great essentials of happiness are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for"
and I needed a hope of my own. Once I took a step, God opened new doors
of opportunity to me. I was asked to lead some life coaching groups on
Chronic Illness, where I met a group of wonderfully supportive and
positive people.
Over the next year I continued
to learn more about myself and understand that when one door closes,
God always has another one waiting to open. It is my desire to write
books that inspire my readers, fill them with a sense of belonging and
bring healing to people through my wounds, and ultimately open a
retreat center for women. "Put your ear down close to your soul and listen hard." Anne Saxton
What real things are you passionate
about? What brings you joy? What issues fill you with pain? When we
answer these questions, we begin to understand our purpose. God knows
your purpose, do you? He has the perfect plan for your life. "The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me." Psalm 138:8
I promise my readers that my books will always be real, down to earth, and that I will share my joys, pain and experiences on a level on which they can relate. My heart and passion are driven by a desire to bring hope to those who are suffering and looking for a new direction and something solid to grasp.
Pain,
grief, and loss are an aspect of life that will touch each of us during
our lifetime. We are shaped by our experiences, emotional, physical,
intellectual, social and spiritual. God desires to take the greatest
areas of pain in your life and use them for good. He desires to help
you utilize the painful experiences to help bring meaning,
understanding, hope and significance into the lives of others who
cannot make it through without your help.
God has the perfect plan for your life. "For
I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans not to harm
you, but plans to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Sometimes we don't understand why God would allow us to go through so much suffering. We look around the world and see it passing us by with healthy people doing healthy living. It hardly seems fair. But I want you to know that we all pass through trials and that God DOES have a plan for your life, even though the way may be bumpy. It is on this premise that I write my books. I too struggle with life issues: health, family, emotional and spiritual. I understand pain. My personal sufferings with illness have made me an expert on it! God can take your areas of pain and distress and use them too!
