That’s right, we find victory in the certainty that the Father himself loves us. If nothing else in the whole world is certain, we know that Christ himself is certain. He atoned for us at the cross and rose again to assure us that He would not leave us. He overcame death to show us–give us visual proof that if we follow him, we also live in victory.
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
We, being of Christ, His spirit within us are a reflection of His love. Therefore, the love we have for one another is like a mirror of God. He doesn’t love us because we love. We love because He first loved us. We are assured of His love by the love that we have for one another.
Thank you, Lord, that you have filled me with your holy spirit so that I may look forward to a future illuminated by the light of your goodness.Lead me away from the temptation to live in fear. Please guide me as I draw closer to you. Fill me with hope and certainty, even in an uncertain world…that I will be unshaken. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
I will praise you, Lord, because your spirit dwells within me and I am filled with certainty in uncertain times.

Light your candle and spend some time today thinking about the reading and reflection questions. Think about the many ways you have already won the battle because you are certain that God loves you. As you think upon these things, write a prayer, talking to God about areas of victory and areas where you are still believing for victory in your life or the lives of others.
Remember, His Light is all around us. Look for it today.
